A water-in-oil emulsion type sunscreen preparation which exerts excellent and sufficient ultraviolet screening effect and which is excellent in long-term discoloration resistance and stability. The preparation is characterized by containing (a) 1 to 30% by mass of hydrophobized titanium oxide and/or zinc oxide, (b) 0.1 to 10% by mass of phenylbenzimidazolesulfonic acid, (c) triethanolamine in an amount of 50% by mass or above based on the component (b), (d) 0.1 to 10% by mass of trimethyl-siloxysilicic acid and, if necessary, (e) 0.01 to 20% by mass of a silicone surfactant. |
