A language learning apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to enhance retentive power in a short time by effectively using instantaneous memory restoration capability of the cerebrum through high concentration. A language learning apparatus includes a data storage unit, an input unit, a display unit(30), a voice output unit, and a control unit. The data storage unit stores learning materials. The input unit allows a user to select functions and the learning materials. The display unit outputs the selected learning material according to a selection signal from the input unit. The voice output unit outputs a voice signal corresponding to the selected learning material. The control unit extracts the selected learning material from the data storage unit to repeatedly output the extracted learning material through the display unit and the voice output unit in both character and voice, wherein the learning material is outputted only in a voice at least one time. |
