The holder (1) comprises a clip (2) with a support plate (3) slanting in a backwards direction at an angle of ca. 15 deg., and with a carrier plate (5) for the object. The carrier plate can be folded upwards with the aid of a hinge (4). The clip has a slot for enabling it to be placed over a belt or trouser band.
