PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemming method by which good hemming workability is obtained even when room temperature aging is progressed, while attaining compatibility between press formability and hemming workability. SOLUTION: The hemming method for hemming an Al-Mg-Si based aluminum alloy sheet into an automobile outer panel, has a down flange stage where the edge part of the aluminum alloy sheet is bent to 90°, a stage where overaging heat treatment by which the whole outer panel is heated at 190-215°C for 2-8 hours, a pre-hemming stage where the edge of the aluminum alloy sheet is bent to 135°and a hemming/bending stage where the edge of the aluminum alloy sheet is bent to 180°.
