<p>A fuel injection valve that excels in the durability against pressure imposed by high-pressure fuel, and that even in the injection of extremely high pressure fuel, realizes execution of injection control with high precision. The fuel injection valve is characterized in that on the posterior end side of nozzle needle within an injector housing, it has a valve body provided with a discharge orifice for discharge of high-pressure fuel and a valve structured so as to carry out opening and closing of the discharge orifice by means of an axial lift and seat, and that an interstice between the valve body and the injector housing is open in the direction of the end portion on the nozzle needle side of the valve body so as to permit passage of high-pressure fuel.</p>
