A system for producing oil and/or gas, including a subsea structure defining an interior of the system, the structure subject to a water current; a covering exterior to the subsea structure, covering at least a portion of an outside surface of the subsea structure; a vortex induced vibration suppression device exterior to the covering; the covering including a first mechanism and the vortex induced vibration suppression device including a second mechanism, wherein the first mechanism and the second mechanism are adapted to maintain the vortex induced vibration suppression device in a location along a length of the subsea structure.
