<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial ball bearing and a retainer for a radial ball bearing improved in lubricity by facilitating the accumulation of lubricants between pockets and balls, and retaining the balls in the pockets without looseness. <P>SOLUTION: A retainer 20 for a radial ball bearing is formed to be wholly ring-shaped and has pockets formed at a plurality of portions in a circumferential direction so as to retain a plurality of balls 5 arranged to be capable of rolling between raceway surfaces of the radial ball bearing. Each pocket has a recessed surface 19 in which the ball is positioned and which is smaller in width in a retainer radial direction s than a diameter of the ball. Lubricant reservoirs 25, 26 are formed along at least a part of the circumferential direction of the recessed surface and at approximately the center in a width direction, and the balls are retained by portions 21a-24a near both ends in a width direction separated from the lubricant reservoirs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
