<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive electrode capable of preventing concentration of electric currents flowing from an active electrode on the front edge, and therefore, preventing unevenness in the heating over a return pad. <P>SOLUTION: The return pad 200 is to be used together with an electrical surgical operation system 100. The return pad 200 comprises a contact layer 215 configured to be engaged with a patient's skin, a conductive layer 210 disposed on the contact layer, and a heating layer operatively associated with at least one of the contact layer and conductive layer.
