PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost by arranging hollow parts according to the vibration direction, and by facilitating the assembly. SOLUTION: In a vibration isolator 1, an external cylinder 20 of a pair of rubber cushions 2A, 2B is inserted into the opening 30 of a bracket member 3, a pair of the rubber cushions 2A, 2B are held between plate members 4A, 4B, a fastening member 5 to connect the plate members 4A, 4B, are tightened, and a rubber elastomer 22 of the rubber cushions 2A, 2B is compressed axially. Before the fastening member 5 is tightened, the outside diameter of the external cylinder 20 is smaller than the inside diameter of a mounting hole 30. The fastening member 5 is tightened so that the rubber elastomer 22 is compressed and deformed, and the bracket member 3 is held between upper and lower flanges 23. The hollow parts 26A, 26B are provided in at least one of a pair of the rubber elastomer 22. A positioning part 24 is provided in at least one of a pair of the outer cylinders 20 to position the circumferential position of a pair of the cushion rubbers 2A, 2B for the bracket member 3.
