PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform ignition/extinguish operation in a joining position of a front material and a rear material. SOLUTION: Total fuel flowing amount to be set in a heating furnace is calculated based on a producing information containing the targeted value of the outlet plate temperature and the pre-detected actual value and also, the plate temperature from the present time to the future is estimated from the plate thickness, plate width and plate passing-through velocity from the present time to the future and then, the future producing plate temperature of the rear plate as the plate material for heating to the next of the front material during presently passing through a heating furnace, and the fuel flowing rate necessary to the rear material from the targeted plate temperature, are pre-calculated. When the platy material is heated with the calculated fuel flowing rate, it is judged that the ignition/extinguish operation is needed or not, and in the case of needing the ignition/extinguish operation, at the time when the joining position of the front material and the rear material is passed through the heating zone , the ignition/extinguish operation is preformed.
