<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide component mounting apparatus and method capable of making cycle time greatly shorter than before. <P>SOLUTION: In this component mounting method, the mounting process comprising the first step of picking up a lower side component P1 and transferring it onto a standby stage 6 and picking up an upper side component P2 and turning it upside down, the second step of picking up the lower side component P1 on the standby stage 6 and transferring it onto a mounting stage 5, and the third step of picking up the upside-down upper side component P2 and mounting it to the lower side component P1 on the mounting stage 5 is repeated. In the second step, the picked up lower side component P1 is mounted in one location on the mounting stage 5 and a completed component P3 manufactured in the other location on the mounting stage 5 in the preceding mounting process is picked up, and the transfer of the completed component P3 picked up in the second step onto the standby stage 6, the retrieval of the completed component P3 on the standby stage 6, and the first step are executed while the third step is being executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
