<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push latch device excelling in operation stability with a compact and simple structure with a small number of parts and capable of carrying out efficient guide operation of an engaging shaft without loss. <P>SOLUTION: The push latch device 21 comprises a push-in rod 23; a slider 24 integral with the push-in rod 23; an energizing spring 26 imparting a projecting tendency to the slider 24; a cam groove 27 of two-position holding loop shape for switchingly holding a projecting position and a retreating position of the push-in rod 23 by two continuous push-in operation of the push-in rod 23; and a swing arm 29 formed to engage a part of the free end side with the cam groove 27 and swinging around a swing fulcrum 50 provided on the base end side.
