PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pearl gloss composition, which can be suitably used for producing a pearl gloss composition which is stable at a high temperature and also is good in gloss, at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the pearl gloss composition, which comprises pearl gloss particles (A) comprising a fatty acid glycol ester (a1) represented by formula (I): R<SP>1</SP>COO-(A<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>x</SB>-COR<SP>2</SP>and a fatty acid glycol ester (a2) represented by formula (II): R<SP>3</SP>COO-(A<SP>2</SP>O)<SB>y</SB>-COR<SP>4</SP>and having a higher melting point than that of the fatty acid glycol ester (a1), and a surfactant (B), is characterized by comprising (i) a process of solubilizing the fatty acid glycol ester (a2) in the presence of the surfactant (B), (ii) a process of adding the molten fatty acid glycol ester (a1) to the solubilized liquid obtained in the process (i), followed by emulsifying, and (iii) a process of cooling the emulsion obtained in the process (ii), to thereby deposit the pearl gloss particles (A).
