PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyoxyalkylene alcohol capable of improving the mechanical strength of a polyurethane foam. SOLUTION: This method for producing (A) the polyoxyalkylene alcohol is provided by performing the addition polymerization of (d) an alkylene oxide with (c) an active hydrogen-containing compound in the presence of (a) a catalyst expressed by a specific general formula and (b) a dehydrating agent, then optionally decomposing and/or removing (a) the catalyst and also optionally removing (b) the dehydrating agent as necessary.
