PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish synchronization even if periodicity of a synchronous pattern is disordered. SOLUTION: A correlation value between a head part (synchronous block) and a synchronous pattern (preamble symbol pas) of a signal received by a receiver Rx is found. The correlation value is compared with a predetermined threshold and each time the correlation value exceeds the threshold, clocking (counting by a counter 4) is started. When the correlation value exceeds the threshold in a plurality of times of timing where a time which is equal to a basic cycle of the preamble symbol pas or an integral multiple of the basic cycle roughly equals the clocked timing, it is judged that synchronization is established. The synchronization of symbol timing can, therefore, be established even if the periodicity of the synchronous pattern included in the head part of the received signal is disordered under an influence of a disturbing wave etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
