PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system capable of suppressing the restoration of information which should not be referenced among deleted information. SOLUTION: This document management system is provided with: an electronic document DB device 1205 for storing a DB 1211; and a DB device 1209 for electronic document backup for storing a BDB 1213. When an electronic document 1207 to be deleted in the DB 1211 stored in the electronic document DB device 1205 is instructed, a DMA 1206 deletes an electronic document 1207 from the DB 1211. When the electronic document 1207 is instructed, the DMA 1206 deletes the electronic document 1214 corresponding to the electronic document 1207 in the BDB 1213 stored in the DB device 1209 for electronic document backup from the DB device 1209 for electronic document backup.
