PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an odorant for a gas in which environment is not polluted since a sulfur oxide is not generated even if it is burned, problems such as the reduction of catalyst performance and the reduction of cell voltage do not occur even if it is used for a fuel cell, and warning odor required for recognition of gas leakage is given to the gas. SOLUTION: The odorant for a fuel gas for attaching odor to the fuel gas constituted by n-butylisocyanide not containing a sulfur component has a characteristic that a sulfur oxide is not generated even if the fuel gas is burned when it is applied to the fuel gas such as liquefied petroleum gas and sensing capability can be enhanced even by the addition of a minute amount.
