Premixing burner comprises a twisting arrangement (100) having tangential inlets (101) for introducing a combustion air stream into the inner chamber of the twisting arrangement; and devices (104) for introducing a fuel into the combustion air stream forming a twisting flow with a mixing path (200). A net-like structure extending over the whole flow cross-section (203) is arranged within the mixing path. Preferred Features: The net-like structure is composed of layers of a wire gauze (202). The net-like structure is 250-1000 microns m wide and is 100-500 microns m thick. The net-like structure is a porous body made from a foamed ceramic material, preferably a silicon, zirconium or aluminum compound.
