GEAR GRINDING MACHINE, METHOD FOR DRESSING THREADED GRINDING WHEEL AND METHOD FOR GRINDING WORK

Toothed grinding machine comprises a numerically-controlled device having a control unit which positions a profile grinding wheel (3) in the X-, Y- and Z-directions and adjusts the wheel in the Y-Z plane so that a dresser (10a) contacts the sides of the profile path of the wheel. The wheel is moved in the Y-direction via a path which corresponds to a rise of the profile path during twisting of the wheel. Positioning of the wheel is continuously changed in the X- and Z-directions so that a contact position of the dresser moves with the sides of the profile path of the wheel progressively along a peripheral surface of the wheel corresponding to the rotation of the wheel. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a profile grinding wheel in a toothed grinding wheel.
