<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup provided with a platform with an incident/out-going plane hardly damaged when a beam splitter is pressed using a jig. <P>SOLUTION: A platform 4 mounted on a main frame has through holes 31 to 39 for optical path through which a laser beam passes, through holes 41 to 48 for parts penetrating from an upper plane to a lower plane, and a through hole 50 for inserting jig provided almost vertically to the incident/out-going planes of a beam splitter 150. By this invention, since the through hole 50 for inserting jig is provided at the platform 4, when the jug is inserted, the jig can be pressed almost vertically to the incident/out-going plane of the beam splitter 50.
