<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt drive controlling device capable of selecting an advantageous method in accordance with constitution of a belt conveying unit under conditions that there is no restriction due to layout of the belt drive controlling device, that is, whether the diameters of two rollers whose rotation information is acquired are different and the diameters of two support rotating bodies are the same. <P>SOLUTION: The belt drive controlling device performs arithmetic processing 120 to extract the value of one of two pieces of rotation variation information having different phases generated in the rotation cycle of a belt body 103 which are included in the rotation information on rotation angular displacement or rotation angular velocity of two of a plurality of support rotating bodies 101, 102 and 105.
