<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a main control part from becoming a state that new signal input is not accepted. <P>SOLUTION: An engine CPU 12 refers to internal state data receiving from a main CPU 8 after transmitting toner installation end notification. The engine CPU 12 checks whether or not a status number included in internal data 20 matches a status stored in the RAM 15 of an engine control part 18, and when the status number of the internal state data received from the main CPU 8 does not match a status number stored in the RAM 15, transmits the toner installation end notification toward the main CPU 8 again.
