PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescope capable of avoiding chromatic aberration and to provide a vibration-proof device for the telescope. SOLUTION: A seat 209 is rotatably disposed on a grip member 4, gripped by a hand, via horizontal shafts 202L and 202R perpendicular to the optical axis of the telescope TS. The telescope TS is placed on the seat 209. The grip member 4 incorporates: a motor 3 for rotating a seat 209; a gyro sensor 5 for detecting angular acceleration around the horizontal shafts 202L and 202R; and a motor drive circuit and a CPU 7 which compose a control means. On the basis of the detection result of the gyro sensor 5, the motor drive circuit and CPU 7 drive the motor 3 in a direction in which the angular acceleration is nullified.
