A method for driving a light source, a driving circuit for performing the same, a light source assembly having the driving circuit, and a display device having the driving circuit are provided to control the amount of light by controlling a duty ratio of a driving signal modulated in a pulse width according to the amount of compensation. A method for driving a light source includes the steps of: supplying driving signals with different basic frequencies to a plurality of color light sources(S110); outputting sensing signals by sensing a mixing light of the color lights generated from the color light sources(S120); outputting the plurality of color signals by filtering the sensing signal according to the basic frequencies(S130); outputting a light control signal to control the amount of lights of the color light sources using the color signals(S140); and supplying the controlled duty ratio to the color light sources by controlling the duty ratio of the driving signals based on the light control signal(S150).
