PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a stable communication path as a relay path of, for example, ad hoc communication in a radio communication system wherein a plurality of radio stations communicate by radio directly or through relaying. SOLUTION: In a radio station, an equalization means 4 equalizes a signal received from another radio station and detects an equalization error, a quality decision means 6 makes a decision regarding the quality of a communication path to the other radio station based upon the equalization error, and a communication path determining means 7 determines a communication path extending from its station to another radio station as a destination via one or more other radio stations, so that data transmission means 7, 11 to 13, 2, and 1 transmit object data through the determined communication path.
