PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine system which provides sales of merchandise by vending machines inexpensively as well as safely without personal information leakage even when using an IC card, etc. SOLUTION: The vending machine system comprises: a vending machine wherein information including at least buyer's personal information is inputted and whether the sale of merchandise is allowed is determined based on the inputted information; and a location server that is separated from the vending machine, allows for local communication with the vending machine, receives the inputted information through the local communication, processes the received information through predetermined software, and passes the information processed through the predetermined software to the vending machine through the local communication, as the determination information.
