PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise caused by magnetic walls of soft magnetic base layer of a vertical magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: A method for magnetic printing executes an initial magnetization process for applying a direct magnetic field in the vertical direction to the disc shaped vertical magnetic recording medium (10) made by laminating a soft magnetic layer and a magnetic layer on a substrate, and an initial magnetization cleaning process for magnetically cleaning the vertical magnetic recording medium (10) after the initial magnetization process by applying an planar magnetic field with an intensity from 100 [Oe] to less than that of a reverse magnetic domain nuclear forming magnetic field Hn in the radial direction from the center of the vertical magnetic recording medium to outward. Next, a magnetic transfer is performed by firmly attaching a master medium and applying a magnetic field for transferring in the reverse direction of the initial magnetization process. Instead of the initial magnetization cleaning or combining with this, magnetic cleaning is made by applying the planar magnetic field with the intensity of 100 [Oe] to less than that of the Hn in the radial direction after the transferring process or concurrently with the transferring process.
