PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus securely identifying a signature from a road image. SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus 1 having chromatic color determining means for determining whether a road image photographed as an input image is chromatic color or colorless for performing chromatic determination for each pixel, a chromatic color determining unit 115 (process of the step S5) is made to perform determination by comparing a ratio factor between chroma of a pixel to be determined and intensity with chroma intensity ratio threshold value Pb1, then brightness and darkness of the whole image is made to reflect on determination whether being chromatic color or colorless.
