PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector for connecting optical fibers by allowing them to butt against each other, wherein sufficient butting force for the optical fibers is obtained independent of environmental conditions. SOLUTION: The optical connector 60 includes a connector main body 10 where an internal optical fiber 6 in a ferrule 1 is made to butt against another optical fiber 13 and connected thereto, and an anchor mechanism 50 which anchors the optical fiber 13 to the connector main body 10 while bending and biasing the optical fiber 13 toward the internal optical fiber 6. The anchor mechanism 50 comprises an anchor component 30 holding the optical fiber 13 and a coupling portion 20 coupling the anchor component 30 to the connector main body 10. The coupling portion 20 has a pressing member 22 which presses a bent portion 14 of the optical fiber to increase the biasing force. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
