<p>A method, system and apparatus for switching between channels belonging to multi-media stream. The method comprises the server for receiving a channel switch request message from the client, and the request message includes the media URL of the new and old channels. According to the result of comparing the servers group URL of the new channels and old channels, determining whether it is necessary to establish new streaming session or use old streaming session to switch channel media. If it is not necessary to establish new streaming session, the server answers the request message from the client and sent the new media stream using the old streaming session. The method can be implemented on the system for switching between channels belonging to multi-media stream. It can save the delay time for switching between channels and improve the quality for playing media stream through the invention.</p> |
