<p>A percussion tool having improved operability and workability achieved by reducing vibration caused by percussion of the tool. In a hammer drill (1), an intermediate reduction shaft (31) is placed between a reduction shaft (32) and an output shaft (9) so as to be parallel to and positioned in front of the output shaft (9) and the reduction shaft (32) is placed in front of the intermediate reduction shaft (31), where the intermediate reduction shaft (31) reduces the speed of an output shaft (9) and transmitting the reduced speed to a reduction shaft (32) for transmitting rotation to a tool holder (7). On the other hand, a motor (8) is placedso that the output shaft (9) projects to a position above a third gear (37) of the reduction shaft (32), which places the motor (8) close to the axis of the tool holder (7). As a result, the center of gravity of the hammer drill (1) is located at a position in the front and upper part of the drill, and this reduces moment occurring in the hammer drill (1) with respect to the tip of a bit (20) in drilling and other operations.</p> |
