A multi-functional rotary switch is provided to enable a user to access most functions of electronic devices by supplying a high function and a compact control function through the multi-functional rotary. A multi-functional rotary switch includes a rotation axis(3), and a roller(4). The roller has a bi-directional rotation mode of an operation and a translational mode of an operation from the rotation axis. The translational mode operates in parallel with the rotation axis. The roller has a pushing mode of an operation. In the pushing mode of the operation, the roller is moved in perpendicular to the rotation axis substantially. The roller has a cylinder shape. The rotation axis is a symmetric axis of the cylinder. The roller has a spindle shape having a cut protrusion. The rotation axis is a symmetric axis of the spindle. The roller has a protrusion unit(6) on an outer circumference unit. The protrusion unit is formed so that the switch is easily operated with a hand without sliding.
