PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein, when a plurality of detection areas are detected at the same time contrary to the intention of a user in a switch device having the plurality of detection areas, an apparatus executes unexpected operations, and discomfort may be given to the user. SOLUTION: This switch device is provide with an oscillation circuit generating transmission waves; a transmitting antenna radiating the transmission waves to a plurality of detection areas; a receiving antenna for receiving reflected waves from the detection areas; a high-frequency sensor provided with a radio wave scanning control circuit for transmitting a control signal for changing the radiation direction of the transmission waves, and a detection circuit for generating a Doppler signal of a detection object, by mixing the transmission waves with the reflected waves; and a control determination circuit for determining the operating state of the detection object, based on the Doppler signal, and transmitting an output signal to an external apparatus. The control determination circuit is such that by identifying the Doppler signal generated from the reflected waves and inhibiting the transmission of the output signal to the external apparatus, when it is determined that there is a detection object in the plurality of detection areas.
