A catalyst carrier having a honeycomb structure provided with two end faces and an outer circumferential part linking the two end faces with each other and provided with cells extending between the two end faces, the cells partitioned by a cell wall, characterized in that on the outer circumferential part of the honeycomb structure there are disposed, provided over the whole length of the honeycomb structure, a coating layer and a reinforcing member, and that the reinforcing member has tow reinforcing rings, each of which is provided so as to surround the outer circumference of each of the end faces of the honeycomb structure.
