The method for creating a swirl-affected flow of medium entails a first partial flow being created with a first swirl, a second partial flow being created, and the two partial flows being brought together and fed to a turbomachine. Air, or gas, or exhaust gas, or a fluid is used as medium. The second partial flow has no swirl, or no swirl is imposed upon the second partial flow via a guiding device. An independent claim is included for a device for creating a swirl-affected flow of medium which comprises a first flow passage (1), a second flow passage (3), a flow guiding device (6) for one of the two flow passages and a restrictor (5) for the other flow passage.
