<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a high-level-expression-type flavonoid 3',5'-hydroxylase (F3'5'H) gene which enables the production of blue phalaenopsis, and to obtain phalaenopsis exhibiting a blue flower color since a F3'5'H gene being one synthase of blue pigment (delphinidin) is known to play an important role in the production of a blue flower color and a F3'5'H gene more highly expressing the enzyme is demanded. <P>SOLUTION: A dayflower-derived F3'5'H gene is found to exhibit a higher effect than that of a known gene and the gene is transferred to phalaenopsis to produce an Orchid family plant having a blue flower color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
