<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective relay for power transmission and distribution system, a faulty point localizer, and a method of eliminating transient components of the system. <P>SOLUTION: An initial average computer 151 gets an average by dividing the total of (N+1) pieces of sampling data by the number of samples (N+1). A next and subsequent average computer 152 gets an average by subtracting the value obtained by dividing a difference between the i-th sampling data and (i+N+2)th sampling data by (N+1), from the average of i-th to (i+N+1)th data, i.e., (N+1) pieces of, sampling data computed with the above first average computer 151. A repeater 153 repeats the computation of the averages by the above next and downward average computer 152 while updating the above i, and computes not only the average of (i+1)th to (i+N+2)th sampling data but also the average of (i+2)th to (i+N+3)th sampling data and the average of (i+3)th to (i+N+4)th sampling data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
