<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform optimal short-range communication. <P>SOLUTION: Electromagnets 24<SB>1</SB>-24<SB>n</SB>of a communication terminal 11 and electromagnets 34<SB>1</SB>-34<SB>n</SB>of a reader/writer 12 generate magnetic forces, respectively. When a communication control unit 33 of the reader/writer 12 determines to perform short-range communication with the communication terminal 11, an electromagnet control unit 35 generates, at the electromagnets 34<SB>1</SB>-34<SB>n</SB>, magnetic forces attracting the magnetic forces outputted by the electromagnets 24<SB>1</SB>-24<SB>n</SB>each other.
