摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the number of ports of a wavelength selection switch from being increased, even when the number of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals to be input/output is increased, and to reduce modifications in an apparatus configuration with respect to extension of input/output ports for WDM signals. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention includes: M1 pieces of first wavelength selection switches each for distributing a received wavelength multiplexed signal into L pieces of output ports for the unit of a wavelength group path; M2 pieces of second wavelength selection switches each for bundling a plurality of wavelength group paths received at L pieces of input ports to output a wavelength multiplexed signal; L pieces of matrix switches each including M1 pieces of input ports for receiving signals from output ports of the M1 pieces of first wavelength selection switches and M2 pieces of output ports each for transmitting a signal to input ports of the M2 pieces of second wavelength selection switches; and a control means which performs control to accommodate wavelength group paths of different wavelengths contained in one matrix switch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
