PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus and an image display method, particularly, an image display apparatus switching an operation from an analog driving mode to a memory driving mode and vice versa and sufficiently widening an opening window by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A switch circuit Q3, Q4 to connect a pixel to a memory unit in the memory driving mode is also used as a switch circuit to connect a pixel to a signal line in the analog driving mode.
