PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a charger wherein, even when a robot is away from an operator who is to charge it, the remaining quantity of its built-in battery can be easily checked and a robot wherein, even when the number of robots is larger than the number of chargers, battery run-out can be prevented as much as possible. SOLUTION: Both first and second robots 104<SB>1</SB>, 104<SB>2</SB>can wirelessly notify a charger 102 of the remaining quantities of their built-in batteries. The charger 102 is provided with a display means indicating the wirelessly notified remaining quantities of batteries and the corresponding robots. Accordingly, the operator 101 of the charger 102 can watch the state of each robot 104<SB>1</SB>, 104<SB>2</SB>to manage charging. Further, the charger 102 can notify either robot 104<SB>1</SB>, 104<SB>2</SB>that it will transit to the power saving mode if the other robot 104<SB>2</SB>, 104<SB>1</SB>is being charged.
