PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable information appropriate for a media player after switching to be displayed on an opposed device even in a case where a media player is switched. SOLUTION: At a portable telephone set applicable to an information processing apparatus according to the present invention, a remote control command transmitting/receiving unit 24 receives a remote control command transmitted from an opposed device via radio communication, and a remote control command analyzing unit 25 analyzes the received remote control command. In a case where the analyzed remote control command is a command requesting acquisition of content attribute information, it is determined whether a media player is capable of acquiring the content attribute information or not. In a case where it is determined that the media player is not the type capable of acquiring the content attribute information, a response command generating unit 26 generates a response command using information indicating that the content attribute information can not be set, and the remote command transmitting/receiving unit 24 transmits the generated response command to the opposed device via radio communication.
