PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information selection support system or the like presenting selection reason allowing a user to easily select a retrieval result, varied in the retrieval result and the selection reason. SOLUTION: In this information selection support system, a control part 11 of a terminal device 3 retrieves retrieval target information by use of an input retrieval keyword, and randomly determines one piece of retrieval result information. Next, an attribute of the retrieval result information is extracted, and is decomposed into an attribute keyword, and a list of a reason case comprising a reason keyword and the reason is created in reference to reason case basic information. The selection reason is determined from a reason case group wherein the attribute keyword and the reason keyword accord, and is presented together with the retrieval result information.
