SHARING OF DIGITAL MEDIA ON A NETWORK

A method (and a system) for a computer user (110) to share files (210a) by publishing references to them at websites (130), e.g., by filling HTML forms (125). This method allows the user to transparently upload (180) said files (210a) to a third party hosting service' (120). Files (210a) which originally reside on the user's computer (210) are automatically uploaded (180) to the third party hosting service (120) and references to them are inserted into the HTML form (125) at the publishing website (130).
