A document authenticity protective device comprises a document transfer unit for transferring a document received through a document reception port to a stack tray through a transfer path, a concealment seal sticking unit for sticking a concealment seal on a portion of the document where information to be concealed is provided, a concealment seal abnormality detecting sensor for detecting abnormal sticking of the concealment seal, a hologram sticking unit for sticking a hologram indicating the authenticity of the document to a desired portion of the document, a hologram abnormality detecting sensor for detecting abnormal sticking of the hologram, a switching gate for reversibly switching the transfer path from the one to the document containing compartment to the one to the error document containing compartment, and a control unit for making a control to switch the transfer path to the one to a reject tray when at least either an abnormality detection signal from the concealment seal sticking abnormality detecting means or an abnormality detection signal from the hologram abnormality detecting means is received.
