PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device having a constitution capable of further achieving cost reduction while maintaining high-speed and high-quality image output and also improving layout properties. SOLUTION: The optical scanning device including light sources 1, 1' driven by modulation, a deflection means 7 having a multi-surface reflector, and scanning optical systems 8-10 guiding a light beam for scanning by the deflection means to surfaces 11a, 11b to be scanned, further includes a luminous flux splitting means 4 which splits the beam from the light source and by which each split beam is incident on the deflection means with a phase difference of approximatelyπ/2, between the light sources 1, 1' and the deflection means 7, wherein the deflection means 7 includes four reflective surfaces. Accordingly, the different surfaces to be scanned can be scanned with one light source, thereby achieving the optical scanning device which can further achieve cost reduction by reducing the number of light sources while maintaining the high-speed.
