PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel therapeutic agent for central nervous system disorder, that is a compound activating nicotinic cholinoreceptor, for example, a specifically nicotinic receptor subtype agonist. SOLUTION: The compound is (4E)-N-methyl-5-(5-methoxy-3-pyridyl)-4-pentene-2-amine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The therapeutic agent is for the disorders selected from the group consisting of presenile dementia (early onset type Alzheimer's disease), senile dementia (Alzheimer type dementia), Parkinson's disease, Huntington's chorea disease, tardive dyskinesia, hyperkinesia, mania, attention disturbance, anxiety, alexia, scizophrenia, and Gilles de la Tourette syndrome.
