PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable molding material in a preliminarily cured state (hereinafter, referred to as "molding material") obtained by subjecting a cyclic olefin-based monomer to a ring-opening metathesis block polymerization having a high viscosity and high fluidity; a method for producing efficiently the molding material; and a molded article produced by imparting a predetermined shape to the molding material and by heat-curing the molding material. SOLUTION: Provided are molding materials having (i) a dynamic viscosity of 100 Pa s or more and a loss tangent of 1 or more and (ii) a dynamic viscosity of 10 to 100 Pa s and a loss tangent of 2 or more, as measured by a viscoelasticity measurement in which the frequency by a conical disc-type rheometer is 2 Hz; a production method of the molding material by subjecting a cyclic olefin-based monomer to a ring-opening metathesis block polymerization in the presence of a methathesis polymerization catalyst and a chain transfer agent; and a molded article obtained by imparting a predetermined shape to the molding material and by heat-curing the molding material.
