PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier laminate such as a film or the like having excellent gas barrier functionality and utilized in various uses as a packaging material, an industrial material, etc. SOLUTION: A coating solution containing a water-soluble monomer and a metal alkoxide is applied to a base material and solidified, hydrolyzed and/or condensed to obtain the gas barrier laminate having a gas barrier layer.
