PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair styling instrument adaptable to the thickness of a lock of hair to be treated. SOLUTION: This hair styling instrument has a handle (1), a holding section (2), and at least one heating section (3) which cooperates with it. The holding section (2) and heating section (3) are fixed respectively on housings (6, 22; 5, 20) jointed to the handle (1). At least one of the holding section (2) and heating section (3) is supported in a floating state in the housings (6, 22; 5, 20), and hair can be inserted between the holding section (2) and heating section (3). At least one of the holding section (2) and heating section (3) has a first magnet (11). The first magnet (11) cooperates with a facing second magnet (12) which belongs to the housings (6, 22; 5, 20) and is attached in the same phase the first magnet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
